Alessi Products Toru

Consisting of two sophisticated, minimalist parts – a stainless steel body and a transparent lid – the Toru juicer demonstrates Nendo’s ability to transform abstract concepts into tangible shapes. In Japanese, “toru” means “through”, and with this juicer, a black, tube-like element seems to pierce the lid, become its handles, and protrude from the steel body to act as a spout. This object is complicated to produce because the linear design requires a particularly challenging manufacturing process.
